The Society for California Archaeology is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to research, understanding, interpretation and conservation of the heritage of California and the regions that surround and pertain to it.
The SCA website is www.scahome.org.
By attending a CASSP training workshop, you will receive a first year's membership in the Society for California Archaeology (SCA) if you are not already a member or were not a member before. Annual membership starts on January 1 and ends on December 31. Membership renewals are mailed in the Fall. You can also renew your membership online, at the SCA web site.
The SCA Annual Meeting is held in the Spring. Registration forms are sent to members around January. Two data-sharing meetings are held in the Fall; they are short (only one day) and informal and there is no registration or cost to attend.
The SCA publishes the journal, California Archaeology, twice a year. The SCA Newsletter is published electronically four times a year. SCA members receive both publications.
